St. Meinrad Archabbey – St. Martin Center and UnStable

Saint Meinrad Archabbey turned to Jasper Lumber when in need of renovating the Kleber Gymnasium.  For many years the facility served as a basketball court and two lane bowling alley for the Abbey and School of Theology.  During the renovations, the bowling alley was removed for the relocation of the schools pizza and pub, the UnStable.  All new mechanical, electrical and plumbing were installed in a high efficiency manner.  The existing concrete floors were repaired, polished and stained.  The upper level Porch was closed in with energy efficient widows for an added 2448 sqft of useable conditioned space.  Convenient restrooms were added on both floors.  Plus, each level is now handicap accessible featuring new and updated entrances.  The existing wood gym floor was refinished and relined for basketball, volleyball and badminton.  Removable floor protection allows the gym to be used for banquets and other gatherings in addition to a sports facility.  Jasper Lumber handcrafted and installed accents of wood trim, wainscoting and a custom bar in the UnStable.  All are fine details that really make the space.  The most outstanding exterior features would be the new metal roof, energy efficient windows and second level covered entry.  Updated lighting, fresh landscaping and concrete walks complete the look.  As a result, the renovations opened up so many avenues for the facility, the St. Meinrad Archabbey renamed the building – St. Martin Center and the UnStable.

"Jasper Lumber Company's creativity really brought to light what can be done with an old open porch and two lane bowling alley overlooking a beautiful lawn and lake. The large porch now has wonderful insulated windows and doors that allow everyone to witness the beauty or our campus. Jasper Lumber Company transformed old ray concrete floors into highly polished beautifully stained floors. No one can believe these are just concrete floors. Everyone at Saint Meinrad Archabbey is so pleased with what Jasper Lumber Company did for us."
